Durham University captain Marcus Rhodes is calling for greater investment and attention towards northern rugby.
The former London Irish academy member, 24, says talent is slipping through the cracks and that northern rugby culture is misunderstood.
Six of 27 clubs across the Champ and National League One are northern, with Sale Sharks and Newcastle Red Bulls flying the flag in the Prem.
