78-year-old Alan plays twice in 24 hours

COLCHESTER Rugby Club legend Alan Goggin marked his 78th birthday in fine style by playing in two matches in less than 24 hours!
The tighthead, who has been knocking about at the Essex club for as long as anyone can remember, started his weekend by lining up in the annual
Alan Goggin Birthday Match at the club’s Raven Park ground on Friday night.
The match, between the Colchester’s Club’s veterans’ team The Roman Ruins and the Suffolk Vets, included around 53 players all over the age of 45, and many considerably older.
