On a tour almost devoid of interest, spark and intensity outside of the Tests it was uplifting to see the First Nation and Pasifika XV – thankfully known as FNP going forward -– dig so deep in Melbourne on Tuesday and take the Lions to the wire.
It was a game and a contest the tour badly needed and a reminder of the energy and interest that should always surround Lions games. The hastily put together FNP had a genuine reason for being there – to proudly represent the First Nation and Pacific island heritage players who have adorned Australian rugby for many decades.
