Lions forwards’ coach John Fogarty was blissfully ignorant of the history of the Melbourne Cricket Ground – he’d never seen a game in his life.
Ebullient Fogarty, left, then stood on the boundary’s edge after Friday’s captain’s run ahead of yesterday’s second Test and reckoned the 100,024 stadium was all right by him.
With the Lions players playing bad cricket on the outfield, Irishman Fogarty said: “I didn’t know what the MCG was, I have never watched cricket, never seen the game, we didn’t play it when we were kids, so I hadn’t got a clue.
