IT was the opening weekend of the Bill Beaumont Cup and the return of county rugby, all competing for a spot at the Twickenham finals day in June.
In Division 2 it created much drama with six games across the country, with derbies and close battles throughout the three pools.
In Pool 3, Oxfordshire saw off Eastern Counties with a powerful 50-23 victory.
