Guernsey……………..33
Westcombe P……… 14
GUERNSEY kept alive their hopes of a top-half finish with a comfortable win over an out-ofsorts Westcombe Park.
The Islanders were out of sight well ahead of the interval, three first-half tries putting the outcome of the tie well beyond doubt even before Park could lay a glove on their opponents.
Anthony Ar mstrong squeezed in for Guernsey's opener to deliver tangible reward for a fast start, before Jordan Reynolds' side struck twice in the space of seven minutes.
Ethan Smith went over in the opposite corner as the home back division purred, though the bruisers up front showed they were no slouches either, back-rower Hugo Culverhouse being driven over from close quarters.
The second period was largely nondescript as both sides struggled to go through the gears with any sort of muster, until an explosion of action in the final ten minutes – much to the appreciation of a healthy crowd.
Culverhouse claimed his second and Thomas Teasdale crashed over as Guer nsey sought to finish in style, but the men from the mainland eventually stirred, Kieran Thompson and Ben Fryatt ensuring Park would leave with a semblance of scoreboard dignity.
