Despite 12 rounds having been played in the Women’s National BUCS League, the unique seven-team fixture scheduling has created simmering tension that was coming to boiling point by the last round of fixtures on December 15.
The next round of action is on January 24, for the women and men.
Cardiff Met women have led from minute one of their opener against Edinburgh to the final whistle of their win over Cardiff in the most recent round. Blessed with a front-loaded fixture schedule that saw them play the first six consecutive rounds, they top the table.
