As half-time approached in this meeting between the league leaders and a team languishing in the nether regions, the final result was far from settled.
Sedgley started strongly and were ahead as early as the fifth minute when Tom Ailes was driven over from a line-out and Steve Collins converted.
But Hoppers responded with a 40-yard run from Chris Taylor, and epic defence was needed to prevent a score. Sedgley then raised the siege, and some slick passing put Rhys Henderson in for an unconverted try.
