Top marks to Saints… and Luke Pearce

AT LAST World Rugby has pushed for speeding up the game, and in last Sunday’s match between Northampton and Quins, it came good. Luke Pearce, the referee for this contest, had a superb game, forcing a quick tempo on both teams. Scrum-halfs were harangued into using ball, lineouts were taken quickly.
The TV coverage also struggled, editors trying to show replays as the game continued apace. Quins were shell shocked and blowing by the end. Well done Luke Pearce.
