Easson goes for even split of Scottish first-timers

Skipper: Rachel Malcolm again captains Scotland

Scotland are playing in their first World Cup in 12 years and head coach Bryan Easson has opted for a surprising split of his 32-player squad, naming 16 backs and 16 forwards.
None of Scotland’s squad appeared at their last appearance at the showpiece event back in 2010.
Rachel Malcolm will continue captaincy duties – arole which the flanker has carried since 2018. Malcolm will be supported in her leadership role by vice-captain and Loughborough Lightning teammate, Helen Nelson.
