ON THE BLINDSIDE

Fol low me on Twitter: @neilfissler

Former England No.8 Nathan Hughes has secured a move to Japan after being released by Bristol Bears when his contract ran out at the end of last season.

Hughes, above, was one of several high-profile players to be without a club and turned down a move to France. where it was understood Clermont Auvergne had put a deal on the table.

He had a spell with Bath last season and will play for the Tokyo-based side Ricoh Black Rams in the Japanese League One in the New Year, where one of his teammates will be Welsh centre Hadleigh Parkes.
