Brown’s keeping in shape

ON THE BLINDSIDE

Mike Brown has been training with former club Harlequins as he looks to keep himself ticking over following his release by Newcastle Falcons at the end of last season.

The veteran fullback, who won 72 England caps, is still without a club after leaving the Falcons, having been linked with several clubs in the Premiership and Championship without a contract materialising.

Brown, 36, is still hoping to play on for at least another season, and Quins are helping him keep his fitness levels up, so he is ready if the phone rings with the offer of a deal.
