LEICESTER Lions produced a clinical display to edge a highly competitive clash with Barnes.
The Lions’ victory owed a lot to their ability to convert the four clear chances they had, whereas Barnes were left to rue a couple of missed opportunities.
Barnes conceded too many penalties in the first quarter and were fortunate to only be 7-0 down, Lions scrum-half James Stubbs having scored under the posts after Dan Martin broke a Barnes tackle and put him away.
