Clifton stave off comeback threat

CLIFTON managed to cling on for a narrow victory in a competitive tussle with Canterbury.
The home side looked to be building a comfortable lead, but Canterbury enjoyed some control in the second half, winning turnovers and line-outs to deny Clifton possession.
Clifton struck after two minutes when they shunned two opportunities to kick at goal and presented Brad Talbot with the opportunity to surge over under the posts. Luke Cozens added the extras.
