Corey Baldwin coming back to Scarlets

THE are set to bring Corey Baldwin back to with the former U20 star returning to from .

Baldwin left the Scarlets for the Gallagher last season but has struggled for consistent game time at Sandy Park due to the strength of the squad.

Before leaving the Scarlets, the Llandeilo product was seen as one of the most promising prospects in the Welsh game with Wales coach Wayne Pivac a big admirer when he was in charge in Llanelli.

Having been born in Surrey there were concerns Baldwin would change his international allegiance to , but the Scarlets have persuaded the 22-year-old centre to return to Wales.

At 6ft and 15st 5lbs, new Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel is hoping Baldwin can give the west Walians a physical edge behind the scrum while he is also an explosive runner with pace to burn.

Baldwin is Peel's fifth new signing since taking the helm with prop WillGriff John, Argentina loose forward Tomas Lezana, Exeter second row Tom Price, and Scott Williams having signed for the 2021/22 season.
