RHYS Priestland delivered his parting gift to Bath by inspiring the victory which ensures European Champions Cup rugby at The Rec next season.
Priestland, returning to Wales to play for Cardiff Blues, bowed out in style as did Montpellier-bound Zach Mercer as Bath finally overcame a spirited Northampton side who shipped a shed load of penalties and two yellow cards.
“It’s five points at home, European qualification and a magnificent way to say goodbye to some great servants to the club in front of our supporters,” said Bath director of rugby Stuart Hooper.
