‘Undersized’ Tompkins beefs up for Wales duty

NICK Tompkins is ready to tear into Scotland on Saturday after using lockdown to increase his bulk and power for Test rugby.
Saracens centre Tompkins – now on loan at the Dragons – was a shock pick for Wales’ Six Nations squad at the start of the year and was involved in all four games before Covid struck.
Despite impressing at international level, Tompkins, right, felt he had to add more to his physicality.
“Lockdown was good to me! I wanted to put on a bit more,” he said. “I felt in the Six Nations I was a little bit undersized.
