Claim of racism against Chiefs step too far

FOLLOWING last week’s letter regarding Exeter Chiefs and their branding using the North American Indian - there will always be people who will disagree but the label of racism is a step too far.
I first attended Exeter Rugby Club in 1946 with my father who had been asked to help restart the club after the war.
The sight that greeted me was white tents which were occupied by black American soldiers. The American Army was segregated and the black soldiers were stationed at the county ground.
