‘Hoppers propose blanket salary cap

PRESTON Grasshoppers head of rugby operations Gareth Dyer has called for a mandatory £100,000 salary cap to be applied to Levels 3 to 5 in a bid to curb wage inflation.
National One clubs need to adhere to a salary cap of £275,000 to qualify for certain RFU grants and loans, while this figure drops to £157,500 at Level 4 and £65,000 at Level 5, where ‘Hoppers currently reside.
