Global calendar may increase workload

WORLD Rugby are keen to produce a coordinated international calendar, and have managed to make the discussion centre on North/South amendments.
No one seems to be asking why, what are the benefits and will they be tangible, eg. expansion of rugby playing around the globe, or a removal of the Tier concept. Meanwhile a calendar that groups all current Tier 1 internationals in a single slot will definitely increase the number of weekends that a top tier player is “available”( no club/country fixture clashes).
