No, it’s not Sir William

WELL done for continuing to publish. Marvellous stories of yesteryear.
Please advise John Berry on last week’s letters page that the RFU steward in the iconic photo from 1974 with the rain coat (p22 March 22 edition) is not Sir William Ramsey past president of the RFU and of Middlesex RFU. He died in 1973 and if he had been there he would have been seated in the Royal Box as a past president of the county union.
