Priestland: I’ve not a clue what’s going to happen to me next year

Wales fly-half to leave Bath at the end of the season

With less than six months to run on his contract, fly-half Rhys Priestland has confirmed he will leave the Rec at the end of the season.
The Wales international is nearing the end of a two-year contract which saw him swap the Scarlets for the Premiership, and after making 46 appearances for the Blue, Black and White he conceded his future was lined with uncertainty.
“Come May, I haven’t got a job [or] a clue what’s going to happen with me next year,” Priestland, 31, told BBC Radio Bristol.
Priestland’s admission comes after Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder confirmed the team would be moving on from the 2012 Six Nations Grand Slam-winner.
Blackadder said: “There’s still a lot of rugby to play between now and the end of the season, and I have no doubt he’ll play a key role in the next six months.
“Rhys has been influential not only on the field but in his leadership off the field.”
Priestland’s contract is set to expire as a result of Blackadder’s desire to sign a new fly-half and the performances of late of incumbent no.10 Freddie Burns.
Speculation has focussed on Blackadder taking a keen interest in South Africa fly-half Handre Pollard.
The Bulls fly-half is out of contract at the conclusion of the World Cup and has already sought a payday overseas in Japan.
