Warriors are blown away by powerful Quins

A DOUBLE from Fiona Fletcher and further scores from Lucy Packer, Jess Breach, Chloe Edwards, Amy Cokayne, Giada Franco and Emily Scott were enough to secure Harlequins an outstanding win against a physical Warriors side away from home. The match got off to a chaotic start with handling errors hampering the progress of both sides in attack, but at the 14-minute mark, Lucy Packer scrambled over for the first score of the contest to make it 5-0.

At the half-hour-mark, Jess Breach dotted down to the left of the posts following a period of intense attacking pressure from her side in the Warriors 22.

In the shadows of halftime, tighthead prop Chloe Edwards rumbled over for her side's third try. With the extras slotted by fly-half Emily Scott, Quins led 17-0 at the break.

After the interval, the away side's dominance up front started to show, and on 48 minutes, back row Fletcher drove over to bring up the try-scoring bonus point for her team. On 55-minutes, Fletcher scored again after another abrasive shove by the pack inside the Worcester 22.

With the extras added by Scott, Quins led 29-0. Hooker Cokayne notched up another muscular score for the visitors, Scott converting.

Worcester hit back with a try of their own through centre Jade Shekells to make it 36-7.

Quins were quick to respond, however, and Italian international Franco smashed through the Warriors defensive line from inside their 22 to score under the posts. As the match entered its final seconds, Scott came up with a little bit of magic from just inside her own half, dancing past would-be defenders to score in the corner.
