BLACKHEATH withstood a late Canterbury surge to record their first win of the season in a thrilling game.
The away side appeared to be cruising to victory when a sixth try of the day with 15 minutes remaining gave them a 34-19 lead but the hosts came roaring back thanks to two late scores, before agonisingly falling a point short.
Despite the defeat, Canterbury earned their first two points of the campaign but are still looking for a maiden victory in the third tier following last season’s promotion.
