Call from the PM convinces Gorgodze to return

A LORD Kitchener-style recruitment call from the Prime Minister of Georgia played a part in convincing Mamuka Gorgodze his country really did need him at the World Cup.
Various people had tried in vain to get the 35-yearold Toulon forward to come out of international retirement since he stood down from the Test arena in 2017.
But when the Georgian Prime Minister and former rugby player Mamuka Bakhtadze picked up the phone and begged him to go to Japan, it was a call he couldn’t turn down.
