FORMER France centre Mathieu Bastareaud started Lyon’s pre-season encounter against Grenoble last night at No.8.
The 30-year-old has moved to the Top 14 outfit on a short-term deal before he joins Rugby United New York for the 2020 campaign. The former Stade Francais and Toulon player was left out of the France squad for the World Cup and duly retired from Test duty. That opened the opportunity to sign a short-term contract as ‘World Cup joker.’
