Versatile Venter to Ospreys

THE Ospreys are set to sign South African scrum-half Shaun Venter from PRO14 rivals Cheetahs.
Venter, 32, will provide Ospreys head coach Allen Clarke with cover for Aled Davies at No.9 for the start of the new season as the Wales man will likely be selected in Warren Gatland’s final 31-man Rugby World Cup squad.
Venter, above, who has also played for the Pumas and the Southern Kings, will fight it out with youngsters Harri Morgan, Matthew Aubrey and Reuben Morgan-Williams for a starting spot at Liberty Stadium.
