Counties hold on as Bird lets it slip

EASTERN Counties finished their season with a bonus-point victory over Northumberland at the Haberden but were made to work all the way.
The visitors opened the scoring through James Bird, who converted his own touchdown.
Counties struck back through Matt Hema - outstanding throughout - but had to play catch up again as Alex Clark notched for Northumberland.
A superb score from Chris Kolapo, converted by the Cambridge fly-half, saw parity again.
The visitors though went in ahead at the break after skipper Keith Laughlin crashed ...
