Scarlets lure in Hurricanes ace Lousi

THE are set to sign powerful lock Sam Lousi from giants the Hurricanes.

Lousi, who can also play in the back row, is expected to join the Welsh region following the conclusion of this year's .

The 27-year-old Lousi started his career in rugby league with Aucklandbased NRL outfit and is an athletic line-out forward known for his abrasive work at the contact area.

Lousi has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2019 Super Rugby season with a pectoral injury.

His imminent arrival follows the news last week that wing Johnny McNicholl has signed a new contract to remain in .

Grand Slam heroes Jonathan Davies, Ken Owens and Rob Evans have also all put pen to paper on fresh Scarlets deals.

“We're in good shape”, said Scarlets head coach , who will be succeeded by Brad Mooar when he moves to take over from Wales boss after this year's World Cup.
