CANTERBURY showed strong defence in this bonus-point win, allowing Clifton few chances and taking their own at the other end.
Immediately from the kick-off a missed Clifton tackle presented visiting scrum-half Daniel Smart with the opportunity to race under the posts, with Ollie Best converting.
After several phases Brad Barnes kicked for home full-back Tom Francis to cross out wide but Best kicked a penalty to grow the lead.
