Neil Fissler reveals the Premiership club want the last eight months of Wade’s contract paid off

By Neil Fissler

could block ‘s move to the NFL unless they are compensated for the last eight months of his contract.
The one-cap England wing walked out on Wasps on Tuesday to join Alex Gray and Christian Scotland-Williamson in trying to crack American Football.
Wade is believed to have already flown to the States in a bid to win a contract with an NFL franchise which will start with a training camp in Florida.
But an agreement must be reached with Wasps for the third-highest try-scorer in Premiership history to be able to pursue his American dream.
The Rugby Paper understands discussions have been taking place but no agreement has been reached, so technically Wasps could demand he sees out his contract.
Wasps director of rugby Dai Young said last weekend after the 35-35 draw with Bath: “Hopefully we can clarify the position in the next couple of days.”
The NFL made an approach for Wade and Courtney Lawes three years ago. Both decided to stick with Union, with Wade confident he would add to his single cap won against Argentina in 2013.
But he has become disillusioned at being overlooked by Eddie Jones.
