WRU may scrap dual contracts to save cash

THE WRU have held high level discussions about scrapping their Dual National Contracts, Blindside can reveal.
The Welsh Union will have 13 players on NDCs this season with a significant number of them set to end after the World Cup next year.
Former Wales captain Sam Warburton, who recently announced his retirement from the sport, was the first player to sign a central contract in January 2014.
Other big name players were then offered the deals – 60 per cent funded by the WRU and 40 per cent by their region – later the same year.
