Crusaders reveal the special way they will honour veteran prop Wyatt Crockett

Super Rugby side will rename their stadium in honour of the loosehead against the Highlanders

The Crusaders have announced that their ground, AMI Stadium, will be renamed Wyatt Crockett Stadium for their clash with the Highlanders on Friday.
The move has been made in recognition of Crockett’s looming 200th Super Rugby appearance in the All-New Zealand clash, as the reigning champions seek to extend their lead at the top of conference.
Crusaders scrum coach Jason Ryan crunched the stats log to pay tribute to the 35-year-old, who will retire from Super Rugby at the end of the season.
“He’s been in more than 3500 scrums not including training – that’s a lot,” Ryan commented.
Meanwhile, All Blacks captain Kieran Read is likely to be a feature in the Crusaders matchday squad for the first time in 2018 after a lengthy spell on the sidelines following back surgery last year.
