EBBW Vale fought hard for a much-needed home win over strugglers Neath to continue their recent good form.
They were close to a lead on eight minutes. After winning a series of early penalties, Ebbw eventually decided to kick for goal, but former Neath star Dai Langdon slipped and the ball hit the post.
Two minutes later, the next time Neath committed an infringement, Langdon’s half-back partner, Dai Jones, thought quickly and ran through for the opening try. Langdon converted.
