THE weather sent game plans out of the window at Grantchester Road, but a try 17 minutes from time from Oskar Hirskyj- Douglas proved decisive for Loughborough Students as they left Cambridge with a win.
A first-half deluge caused consternation for both sides, who were forced to employ closequarter rugby founded on rock-like defence. A slick pitch and a soap-bar of a ball proved to be a levelling factor – and ironically it was two Owen Waters penalties that saw the visitors up at the break.
