RICKIE ALEY scored 21 points for South Leicester as they won a thriller against newly promoted Huddersfield.

Huddersfield took the lead after four minutes when Will Milner scored a try which was converted by Joel Hinchcliffe, but South quickly levelled after a fantastic run by Myles Bean produced a try which was converted by Rickie Aley.

Aley and Hinchcliffe then exchanged penalties, and South moved in front when Aley added another.

They stretched their lead when Will Cave went over for his first, only for Thomas Owen to respond in kind as the visitors trailed 18-17 at the break.

The second half began with a try as Bean took advantage of a Huddersfield error which Aley converted, but Field responded quickly with a seven pointer from Nick Sharpe and Hinchcliffe. Aley then scored a penalty and a drop goal to restore South's lead and make it 31-24.

Field levelled though, this time through Lewis Workman's try which Hinchcliffe converted.

South instantly regained the lead via an Aley penalty, but Field hit back through Samuel Nunn's score off the bench.

South eventually won it though when Aley slotted another penalty and Cave scored a try to cap off a wonderful afternoon.
