New Zealand 39 France 26

■NEWZealand are 80 minutes away from their sixth Junior crown after a demonstration of pure force against on Tuesday.

The game kicked off with an 80-second stare off between the teams as France refused to move away from the haka, but that was as close as the French came to challenging the Baby , who romped to a 15-0 lead within 11 minutes.

Tiaan Falcon scored ten points including a try to go with one from Will Jordan and it got worse for France when a moment of madness from flanker Baptiste Pesenti saw him kick out at a Kiwi player during a maul and get a yellow card.

Dalton Papali'i made them pay with his side's third try and led 36-0 just after the break after Caleb Clark and star hooker Asafo Aumua gradded a try each.

But New Zealand took their foot off the gas and France scored 26 unanswered points with tries from Baptiste Couilloud, Pesenti, Peato Mauvaka and Lucas Tauzin.

However their unlikely comeback ended there with Falson slotting a penalty to ensure the win.
