England vice-captain brings the Christmas cheer to winners of Saracens’ crossbar challenge

star joined in the Sarries end of term Christmas prize giving which helps children with learning difficulties.

The number eight, who is currently sidelined after knee surgery, helped train the youngsters from the Saracens Disability Programme and then handed out trophies and new Saracens fleeces to the boys at Allianz Park.

All the youngsters, aged between 12-20 years-old, had a go at the cross bar challenge and the tackling bags.

Other first team players who regularly assist with training include England hooker Jamie George, Neil de Kock, Schalk Brits, Brad Barritt, and Will Fraser who has now retired through injury.

Every week, Paul Tanner, of sponsors Alan Day Volkswagens Hampstead, and his team of volunteers from New Southgate and The City turn up to help out with training the children while mums and dads enjoy refreshments in the Sarrie’s VIP area.

The Saracens Disability Programme won the Rugby Break Thru Award for their successful community programme last year.
