Loyal duo pens new Yorkshire Carnegie deal

two longest serving players Phil Nilsen and Richard Beck have signed new one-year contracts with the club for next season.
26-year-old Beck has been at the club since 2006 making his first team debut in 2009 in the LV= Cup game against Leicester Tigers. The flanker has since made 85 appearances for Carnegie including 15 in all competitions so far this season.
Hooker Nilsen, 31, is the longest serving player at the club after over a decades service, and is now fourth in the all-time appearance chart with 140 games to his name.
He commented: “I am really pleased to have agreed a new deal. Being out of contract is tough for any player no matter what time of year it is so to have signed on for another year is great and allows me to focus solely on this season as we enter a key part of the year.
“A great thing about where we are at the moment is there is a lot of positivity around the club. Everyone wants to get back into the Premiership eventually and the club is now geared up towards achieving that goal with the investment and direction for Yorkshire Carnegie.”
Director of Rugby Chris Gibson added: “We are pleased to have secured Phil and Richard for next season. We are currently in the process of finalising our squad for next season and to have two stalwarts of the club committed is a big boost for our plans moving forward.”
