Jimmy Gopperth’s three week ban for striking Mathew Tait was withheld at an appeal last night.
The Wasps fly-half will not play until November 24 and will miss Sunday’s game against Gloucester as well as the opening two rounds of the Champions Cup against Toulon and Leinster.
The incident occurred in the 54th minute at Welford Road when Gopperth chased his kick and was late in hitting Tait in the air.
