Mike Friday joins London Scottish as backs coach

As revealed in The Rugby Paper on Sunday by Neale Harvey, Mike Friday has joined London Scottish as backs coach for an initial three month period.
Friday will assist James Buckland who has been promoted to acting head coach after Director of Rugby Simon Amor left the club last Wednesday to become England Sevens head coach.
41-year-old Friday brings a wealth of coaching experience to Scottish, having enjoyed spells at London Wasps, London Welsh, Blackheath and Rosslyn Park as well as nurturing the finest talent in English rugby at the RFU‘s National Academy.
On the international sevens stage he has had great success with both England, leading them to four successive Hong Kong Sevens victories and a silver medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, and most recently with Kenya, taking them from 12th to 5th in the HSBC IRB World Sevens Series and 4th in the 2013 RWC.
As a player, the scrum-half spent most of his career at London Wasps and captained the England sevens side at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and 2001 World Cup.
Friday said: “I am looking forward to getting on the pitch with the boys and helping them develop as a team and individually whilst ensuring a winning brand of rugby that is enjoyable to play and watch.
“The Greene King IPA Championship is a highly competitive league and it will be a good challenge to assist Bucks (James Buckland) in plotting plans and patterns of attack and defence.”
