Bath and Canterbury to donate £10,000 worth of kit to local clubs

and are donating up to £10,000 to 10 grassroots clubs in the Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire area throughout the 2017-18 season.
Grassroots clubs work hard to inspire both current and future generations to engage with the sport and its values, be that in an amateur or professional capacity. The aim of this initiative is to give something back to those clubs, ensuring that the rugby players of tomorrow can enjoy the game to its full potential today.
£10 from each Home, Away or European 2017-18 adult replica shirt bought through the Club shop or at bathrugbyshop.com will go to a Gift of Kit fund, with £1000 going to each of the 10 local clubs nominated.
Bath supporters are being given the opportunity to nominate their local club of choice through bathrugby.com, with nominations closing on Friday 25th August. The lucky clubs will then be drawn at random by Bath Rugby captain, Matt Garvey.
The clubs will each receive their Gift of Kit throughout the season, with some special guests from the Club presenting the kit and helping out with some training tips and expertise.
Garvey said:  “We receive fantastic support throughout the season from our local clubs, so it's really great to be able to give back in this way.
“Grassroots clubs are at the heart of rugby – they give everyone the opportunity to enjoy the game at all levels, and help inspire future generations, so it's really important to us to help them through initiatives such as this.”
