Worrying direction of travel

A SUCCESSFUL enterprise is usually built on firm foundations. I wish that I could see this in rugby union with a leadership at the top which cares about the grass roots of the game. Regrettably the answer is I do not.
I am sorry to say that the current league set-up puts tremendous financial strain on many lower clubs by making them travel large distances which generally entails hiring a coach. Then the powers that be come up with a hair brained idea that these clubs can purchase expensive groundwork equipment to lessen the need for volunteers. Where is the money supposed to come from...
