A GENERATION ago, Coventry were the leading club in England, providing a stream of Test players, and providing most of the members of a Warwickshire which won a string of County Championships.
Yorkshire and Cornwall had strong county sides, both with a smattering of internationals, and included players who would be nowhere near today’s Premiership standard.
