A TREMENDOUS defensive effort in the closing minutes saw Montpellier book their place in the semi-finals after back row Yacouba Camara had been shown a yellow card.
Tommaso Allan had come off the bench for Benetton and slotted a penalty to reduce the hosts’ lead but as Benetton mounted a late attack the Top 14 side managed to hold them at bay.
The Italians took the lead after just two minutes through Italy fly-half Paolo Garbisi. His shot from distance was quickly cancelled out by Montpellier scrum-half Benoit Paillaugue.
