Northerly attitude helps officials excel

I MAY be a little biased here, as a Tiger through and through, but to me the referee and the TMO in last week’s Leicester v Gloucester game seemed to be on exactly the same page.
The pitch ref missed a few things – every ref misses a few, that’s rugby – but the way he (Jack Makepeace ) and the TMO (Stuart Terheege ) discussed things correctly in a down to earth manner ensured they got everything right. I think a more northerly tone and attitude helped.
