LASTweek Newcastle’s Dean Richards is quoted as saying that ring-fencing the Premiership would be the ‘best thing’ not just for the club game, but also for the national team. This from someone whose club is currently bottom of the league.
If Richards and other Premiership clubs were so concerned about the wellbeing of the England side, they would agree to central contracts, but that would remove much of their influence.
Meanwhile England fans must just put up with the present roller coaster – the 2015 World Cup, the 2018 Six Nations and the two recent displays agains...
