Let’s have earlier kick-offs in winter

IS it really necessary in winter months to start as late as 3pm when invariably the lights have to be switched on at half time?
I attended the Exeter v Bristol match expecting an attritional game (which it was) and, obviously some games are ‘scrappier’ than others – but one wonders whether or not the quality of play might be enhanced were the whole of the match to take place in natural light particularly now that the box kick (a discussion in itself!) is such an intrinsic part of any team’s armoury. Consequent handling errors were in abundance!
