THE selection of two fly-halves at 10 and 12 for the 2017 Lions was not a fresh idea.
The 1971 Lions used this combination in their games with outstanding effect with
Barry John at 10 and Mike Gibson at 12. Before changing to centre, Gibson was the finest fly-half of any era. And later arguably the greatest centre of any era.
