Covid points sytem needs urgent review

I FIND the Premiership system for awarding points in a match called off due to Covid-19 somewhat farcical. It is nobody’s fault that one team has a number of positive tests, every club is doing their best to prevent the spread.
I accept that the team not at fault should be awarded a win, but why should the team, due to positive tests, be awarded two points because the game cannot be played? This could lead to a team, who manage to play their games but not gain enough points, being relegated. The round ball game would not accept this.
